Optician by day crochet by night – well that was how the journey began for me. I came to crochet and knitting as a way to relax and unwind from a busy job that involved a lot of travelling. I enjoyed learning and creating and I also enjoyed the mindfulness aspect of it too – I felt calmer. Suddenly I had a great hobby that turned into a side hustle and Jasmin Makes Stuff was born.
I work with the art of amigurumi, crocheting small items. The word amigurumi comes from a combination of two Japanese words: Firstly “ami”, which means crocheted or knitted, and then “nuigurumi” meaning stuffed doll.

I take the inspiration for the items I make from nature and the New Forest where I live. So it can be bumble bees, hedgehogs or donkeys, dogs, toadstools or robins – you name it.
Added into the mix I also love to create Pokemon figures using the same technique.

You can find me at many a craft fair and event in the New Forest area. And I am stocked in a number of local shops. Please have a look at my Events and Stockists page to see where you can find me or my creations soon.
Plus you can shop online through my Etsy store.

If you would like to join one of my classes I would love to help you on your journey to enjoy a new craft or reacquainting yourself with a skill from your youth. Find time for yourself and the peace of making in these busy times.
I am very pleased to be part of The New Forest Marque Inspired.
